The ACIF Forecasts will be released next week on Thursday 4 November.  ACIF Chief Forecaster Kerry Barwise and his team have been ‘burning the candle at both ends’ on these forecasts, and ACIF’s Construction Forecasting Council has met twice to discuss them.  There will be a Forecasts Briefing webinar on the same day to explain the forecasts and what it all means.  This briefing is complimentary and you can register here. This webinar will feature Kerry Barwise, the Chair of the Construction Forecasting Council Bob Richardson, Eliza Owen of CoreLogic and Andrew Scott of Morgan Stanley.  The ACIF Forecasts look forward 10 years, and have data going back 20 years, and cover 20 construction categories in residential, non-residential and engineering construction.  The November 2021 Australian Construction Market Report and Customised Forecasts Dashboard can be purchased from the ACIF website from 4 November.

The Australasian BIM Advisory Board (ABAB). continues to achieve many successes.  Please see below in the e-news regarding the successes so far for 2021.  Perhaps the greatest achievement is that from one jurisdiction in 2016, there are now six states and territories which have developed and are implementing a BIM strategy.

ACIF Chair Norman Faifer will be giving the opening address and keynote speech at Australasian Universities Building Education Association (AUBEA) conference, which will run from 27–29 October 2021.  Further information can be found here.

Best wishes and stay safe,

Dr James Cameron

ACIF Executive Director
