A BDAA Associate member is one who has achieved a certain level of proficiency and success in the building design industry—but who has even a higher level of aspiration to reach. It’s a solid level of membership with good benefits, that can be updated at any time.

Associate members enjoy many basic and important benefits of BDAA membership.

MEETING AND GROUPS: They have the ability to attend all BDAA Chapter Meetings throughout Australia, as well as the national online chapter and any face to face meetings conducted. And you will be eligible to join BDAA’s national online members only Face Book Chat Group and to join BDAA’s national online unrestricted LinkedIn Chat Group. You can receive details of all BDAA social media platforms in which you can participate.
EDUCATION: You will receive and learn from the BDAA weekly industry Report “5 Things You Need to Know,” the top news items affecting the Australian building industry and built environment, along with industry updates and notifications through the BDAA EDM portal service. These concern everything from upcoming BDAA classes and events to new association policies, member news to conference and awards updates.
EVENT DISCOUNTS: You can receive discounted rates to all CPD events and discounted rates to all BDAA educational courses. You will be eligible to participate in all BDAA events throughout Australia, and to receive discounted rates to the BDAA National Conference.
CPD: You will have the ability to use the BDAA CPD App, to register your CPD attendance at BDAA events. CPD courses are essential to the careers of building designers, and it’s vital that they keep an accurate record of their CPD points.
PUBLICATIONS: You will receive a copy of the annual Winning Design magazine; a glossy magazine that features winners from the BDAA National Design Awards.

Open to all persons employed in the building design professionals who do not meet the criteria for Full Membership.

Associate Members are required to upgrade to Full Membership, once they reach the criteria, or after one full year of Associate Membership, whichever occurs first. This upgrade will be required to be done at the next renewal period.

An Associate Member who is working in the building design or building industry but is not practising as a building designer, may remain as an Associate Member and not be required to upgrade.

To be eligible for Associate Membership, the online application must include the completed Associate Membership Declaration Form, which can be found in Become a Member tab on our website: www.bdaa.com.au.
