Australia’s largest home builder, Metricon, has urged the NSW and South Australian governments to drop their lockdown bans on construction and follow Victoria’s approach in allowing building work to continue during COVID-19 outbreaks. Metricon, with 8000 new homes in its national pipeline, expects to lose as much as $10 million in progress payments over the two-week shutdown of the construction sector imposed across Sydney.
