From 1 October 2023, Section J Energy Efficiency Provisions from the National Construction Code (NCC) Volume One (2019) will apply for all new non-residential buildings in the Northern Territory.

In preparation for the adoption of Section J, the Department of Information, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) is hosting a free Industry Information Forum: NCCSectionJ.eventbrite.com

Join us on Thursday, 27 July 2023 at the Hilton Darwin Ballroom to hear presentations from DIPL and a range of local industry representatives sharing their insights into implementing Section J energy efficiency measures on projects already being undertaken in the NT. Hear from an architect, mechanical engineer and builder about how they are successfully implementing Section J requirements in a range of commercial projects underway across the NT.

Kicking off with coffee and refreshments available from 7:45am, a panel of presentations from 8:00-9:30am and further opportunity for networking with refreshments from 9:30am.

The Industry Information Forum is a chance for all building industry practitioners involved in non-residential construction in the NT to learn more about the implementation of Section J.

Increasing the energy efficiency of new buildings in the NT will provide energy savings over the life of a new building and reduce the NT’s greenhouse gas emissions.
