Environment Protection Authority scheduled a series of drop-in events in order to provide information, answer questions and get feedback about the new Environment Protection Amendment Act 2018 and its own transformation.

The meetings will be held in Melbourne City Business District at William Angliss TAFE on 10th of December then in Bendigo, on 12th of December at All Season Hotel, both being scheduled from 10am to 1pm.

The new Environment Protection Amendment Act 2018 will be enforced beginning July 2020. It provides specified principles of environment protection, introduces the principle of waste management hierarchy, the principle of polluter pays, and the principle of shared responsibility.

Environmental Protection Authority is granted new responsibilities and powers, such as to eliminate or reduce risks of harm to human health and the environment, to improve environmental quality, to provide information and education to the Victorian community about environmental quality, risks of harm, and environmental best practice, or to give advice to a person who has a duty under this new act. EPA will establish and maintain a Public Register in which all the details about decisions, authorizations, and other documents will be stored.

The Authority will announce on their website the meetings planned for early 2019.
