Small but ideally formed is the perfect way to describe a tiny Aussie house in Victoria’s mountain terrain.

The Victoria holiday home is situated at the foothills of Mount Buller, near the community of Mansfield. The house is constructed from two converted shipping containers connected via a timber deck, with the bedroom and open-plan bathroom situated in one container, and the kitchen/living room in the other container.

Interiors shine forth as ‘rustic minimalist’ in style, with basic plywood walls and built-ins forming a cohesive aesthetic that fails to distract from the striking views beyond its hydraulic windows.

While off-grid, the cabin does draw power from a 12-volt battery and running water (hot and cold). The cabin features indoor and outdoor cast iron fireplaces to warm the home, which is conveniently located near the centre of Mansfield.

The shipping container home can be booked via Airbnb from a rate of $264.29 AUD per night.
