Sustainable Design Conversations

Our guest for July will be Chintamani Bird, Founder and Director of Studio Chintamani, an interior designer whose work uses neuroscience and biophilic principles to foster wellbeing in the built environment, redefining the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.

We will be discussing how biophilic and nature-based strategies can enhance cognitive performance, emotional wellbeing and occupant resilience, and how to design spaces that support both human health and ecological regeneration.

Working at the intersection of biophilic design, sustainability, ecology and neuroscience, Chintamani’s work explores how the built environment can profoundly influence mental health, cognitive function and overall wellbeing. In this episode, we delve into the science behind biophilic design and discover how incorporating nature into our homes, workplaces and communities can reduce stress, enhance creativity and support healthier, more resilient lives.

Drawing on international research and practical design experience, Chintamani will share her insights into neuro-biophilic innovation and explain why designing for human wellbeing is becoming one of the most important considerations in creating truly sustainable built environments.

Whether you're a designer, builder, homeowner or simply curious about the connection between nature, the brain and wellbeing, this conversation offers an inspiring and evidence-based perspective on the future of design.
